Description

This is a great opportunity for a DIY hunter to have access to private land during archery season in Illinois. This area produces big whitetail. This is completely a DIY hunt that is a 5 day hunt minimum. Big bucks are in the area and opportunity knocks on these 2100 acres! There is a max of 5 days. This is a select hunt for Archery only, and it lowers the pressure on the properties. Client may also bring a blind along if not a tree stand hunter. Hunter will need to book a hotel at the nearest city, which is Carlinville or Litchfield and be ready to provide their own food throughout the hunt. Tree stands will be in place and cameras will be in place. Outfitter will provide pictures of bucks in an album for identification purposes. There is a $500 fine for shooting bucks under 130". The targeted Whitetails are older mature bucks.

There are good bucks in the area. Archery hunts are over the counter licenses. Archery only! This allows for bucks to grow big and lowers the hunting pressure. Outfitter has not had any hunter not draw if they put in for the unit. RBO can handle all necessary applications and enter hunters into the draw. Shot opportunity is high for those who know how to play the wind and set up in a good area.

Refund Policy:

Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

Lodging will be client provided on this hunt. Outfitter can recommend places to stay in the area. There is a local lot for RV hook ups if desired. Price is $50/day.

If DIY hunt is selected, outfitter will give locations of the stand setups and hunter is responsible to get to their stand. Light hiking will be required to get to the stand.


Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Final flight destination city is St. Louis, Missouri. Hunter will be required to get a rental car to get to their hotel and to and from the hunting grounds.

Description

Depending on the season booked will determine what should be packed for sitting in the stands. Early season archery hunts the weather will be warm with some cooler temps in the mornings and evenings. Mid-November through mid-December temperatures range from 30-40 during the daytime with lows ranging in the teens and 20s (below freezing). If January archery hunt is booked temperatures range in the low teen to high 20s during the day so heavy winter gear is recommended. DIY hunters will be supplied with a stand, but can also bring their own. All hunters must bring personal stand climbing equipment. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
